Villain in the Night

You’ve been caught red handed robbing the bird feeder in the darkest hours, like a thief at an ATM. This is not the first time I’ve caught you perched upon the white fence leaning ever so slightly toward the squirrel proof feeder; just enough to keep your balance and slap bird seed into your paw….

PURPLE

When I first saw the sun go down on this particular evening last week, I thought, nothing about going out in the freezing temps to capture it. But, when the light reflected off the snow, I couldn’t contain myself; adorned winter gear, grabbed my camera and stepped out into a magical place.

The Old Woman

She’s out there, in the valley of branches, her appearance battling sun and shadows, old body leaning headlong into the future, while pine shields her from strong winds and bitter cold, as winter finds its way into January.

Layer by Layer

When God woos us, layer by layer the walls around are hearts fall down.

Goodnight Kisses

You wrap me in your warmth through day, holding me dear in your grasp, ’til night skies emerge and your beauty tenderly kisses me goodnight.

Slipping

Winter is slipping away one morning glow at a time one second of thawing ice one moment of spring thoughts one….

Pure Delight

You are my pure delight as I lay here under ever changing skies overwhelmed by the canvas painted before me. I glance heavenward, so taken by the beauty I cannot believe I am where I am. My parka, a warm blanket, snuggles my body working hard to keep the chill at bay, as I stare…

Green

As a zesting of winter’s soon to be unmeasurable white muddles my view, I find myself swiping through photos of warmer memories; realizing how much I miss the color green. For it is alone I am not in this bipolar winter, where Michiganders alike can sympathize that each time a thaw appears, we are hoping…

A W E

Surrendering to the moment my backside molded to frozen sand marveling at color and the way light shines like warm diamonds. The clearest vision of contentment consumes me, as my body relaxes, taking it all in. Thoughtless I am when warm breath escapes into pastel skies. And though my camera is attached to my hand…

Winter’s Immersing Day

You’re calling me from my sleep into the unknown to lay by your waters where my heart will be full I heard a sweet tender voice, a lapping of waves I saw a cloud arising to light, from winters immersing day

Flutter & Flit

Like a paper napkin on a windy day from nectar to nectar you flutter and flit.
